now this is a first…

While prowling strolling through my Goodwill the other day I spotted THIS little pile of fabric…. It just so happened to have precious little legs poking out. Upon further examination I could tell this piece was sooooo old vintage. :) The price tag said $3.99, so I loaded her right up!

009

I started pulling off the nasty little cover….. Do you see what was peeking out??

010

YUP! A $10 bill!!! I couldn’t believe it. I ran over to get my neighbor Charlotte. Someone else just HAD to see this!

011

I left it like this for Andrew to see when he got home…. I was all bragging to Charlotte and some other friends while Andrew started pulling the rest of the cover off…. You will not BELIEVE what he found:

Yup. That’s an envelope… It was tucked under that skirty thing…. AND what was IN that envelope you ask??

012

$20 more dollars!!! We could not stinkin’ believe it… We were laughing hysterically at this point… We went nuts over $30. Have you ever?? It was fabulous. Goodwill PAID me to take this bench!

013

This was written on the envelope:  Thanks, Ronnie! I guess Mrs. B made  a habit out of stuffing her cash under that bench!

014

We kept stripping layer after layer after layer of upholstery off this baby… It was covered….

018

This is what we’re left with. It’s actually in ok shape….it needs a new top cut. I’m thinking about just cleaning the wood up and making a little slipcover for the top.

019

This little lady may just have to stay put at my house. If this isn’t a good luck charm I don’t know what is!

love and hugs,

Oh my gosh! You really did hit the jackpot! Okay, well, it was only $30.00, but $30.00 you didn't have before. Found money ~ which means you are to spend it. : ) Maybe on fabric and foam for the bench . . . .

Ha! What are the chances of that? You are right ~ it is clearly a lucky charm & must stay :) Lucky girl!! And the stool is going to be fabulous, I can already tell!

I'd refinish the bench and keep it always. Might even upholster in the story of what you found. And old friend of mine used to say when you start finding money, you keep finding money! Hope you'll stop by and see our upholstery ideas. Jane F.

You lucky lady. And yes she would look smashing with a flirty skirt on top.
