Yep. Lost it… It’s a goner…. LONG GONE. I don’t know if this ever happens to anyone else, but when I have a million people coming to my house for any reason I decide it’s time to totally redo things. Like the time my bff was coming for a visit, and I decided that I needed to totally redo my son’s room she was staying in a few days before her arrival. OR the time one of my besties was coming, and I KNEW I just had to refinish my china cabinet, table, and chairs for her visit… not even a week before she arrived. I do this ALL the time, and I’m aware that I’m nuts like that…. It’s just how I roll. I can’t show you all the after shots yet, well…. because…. ummmm….. they’re not all finished. I know. Crazy. We work well under pressure! Here are a few of the projects I decided last week that we needed to get done BEFORE Thanksgiving.
Yeah… I thought it would be a great idea to strip this chair down to the bones, repaint, and recover it. THIS may be the ONE project that isn’t done by Thursday.
Wasn’t this weekend a perfect time to persuade Andrew that it was time to build our fake fireplace??
How about refinishing our new to us antique table?? After all it seats more people than our current table, and we COULD use all that extra seating for Thanksgiving… That makes sense huh?
You know…. Don’t worry that it took me ALL day long Wednesday just to strip the finish….
Why not just go ahead and redo this piece too?? I mean it’s no big deal… Just strip and refinish the top… Paint and glaze the bottom… No biggie. I can handle it….
And this?? Oh it’s just the seat to the bench Andrew also built for seating for that table I showed you….
Here’s the bench and chest as of this morning….
Don’t doubt me peeps. We WILL get this done by TONIGHT. Every single bit of it. Then tomorrow?? Can I rest?? Nope. It’s time to clean and get to cooking for Thursday. What can I say?? It’s just the way I roll. Are you tired just looking at this? I am.
Love and hugs.

I'm with you sister!! I think I lost my mind deciding to makeover the WHOLE kitchen a week before Thanksgiving!! I also have a chair that I took apart to reupholster in the family room. Not sure it will get done in time either!! However, lucky for me that our Thanksgiving dinner isn't until Sunday! Deer season, you know! Good luck and I hope everything works out in time and you aren't too tired!!!
I do this all the time too! In fact I just emailed my mom and told her she needed to come visit that way I would finally get my guest room finished!!
You guys are a regular assembly line the way you turn out all these pieces...amazing! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving :D
Yes I am tired just looking at your list of projects!! You definitely have more energy than I do.
Looks like you have some great projects in the works.
Happy Thanksgiving.
